Congratulations to the artists recognized for their work at the reception on Sunday for the “Oils and Acrylics” show, the first in our Art Treasures Trio series of exhibits. Awards were presented in front of an overflow audience by judge Robert Yi, Assistant Director of the School of Art at George Mason University. Stop by to see these and other wonderful works at the VAS Gallery at the Village Green Shopping Center in Vienna. The show runs through October 9, and will be followed by the second of the Art Treasures Trio show, “Watercolor and Pastels”.
First Place: Kimberly Stein, “Finding Love”
Second Place: Jodi Condes, “Dawn on Lawyers Road”
Third Place: Leo Deege, “Fall Colors”
Honorable Mention: Kimberly Stein, “Koi Pond”
Honorable Mention: Bob Kaminski, “Spring Thaw – Sierras”
The reception at the VAS Village Green Gallery was also the place to meet new and seasoned artists, and make new friendships and connections. The VAS board was there to answer questions about volunteering, workshops, meetings, benches (our Take a Seat Vienna Returns next year!) or our many other activities in the community.
