The Vienna Arts Society welcomes the public to free-of-charge virtual artist demonstrations the second Thursday of each month.
Zofie King, our featured artist in July, described her unique creations in her demo: “The Art of Assemblage.”
As Zofie describes her work, “My pieces are psychological cabinets of curiosity, inspired by all that is Gothic.” She thinks of these cabinets as a way to organize our thoughts. “In these times when everything seems to out of control, this kind of order is reminiscent of the way we have created enclaves within our homes and minds.”
Zofie has had solo shows at the NVCC Margaret W. Fisher Art Gallery, DC Arts Center, Mount St. Mary’s University Gallery, and Hillyer. She was part of the Sparkplug Collective from 2017-2019 and is currently a member of the Washington Sculptor’s Group.
To learn more about Zofie’s work, you can attend her Art League class in September or visit her studio tour site.
