At their monthly meeting on September 12th, the Vienna Arts Society had an inside look at the work of a Police Sketch Artist. Detective Kathy Franck of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office shared how she became a Composite Sketch Artist and the techniques she uses to create her artist sketches in the courtroom.
Audience members brought their sketchbook and pencils and sketched along with a witness description of a mystery perpetrator, who turned out to be Hugh Jackman!
As well as her work with the LCSO, Detective Franck has conducted sketches for the Fairfax PD, Montgomery County PD, U.S. Postal Service, FBI, U.S. Marshall Service, Homeland Security Child Exploitation Investigations Unit, Prince Willliam County PD, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, Leesburg PD, and Fairfax City PD.
