“Behind the Desk” — Jodi Condes — February 11 to April 8.

Painting by Jodi Condes

Now showing at Patrick Henry Library in the special exhibit “Behind the Desk” is the art work by VAS artist, Jodi Condes.

Outside of the fact that Jodi is a very busy VAS member and artist.  You will enjoy the sublime images that she paints come by to see those she  chose to share at this venue from February 11 to April 8, 2019.

In her own words:   After a long career in a completely different field, I first explored painting near retirement.  Having never studied art but discovering late in life the exhilarating feeling of putting brush to canvas, I have since been absorbing everything I can from books, classes, meeting other artists, visiting art museums, and painting A LOT.  I work primarily in acrylics so far, and especially love to paint middle-distance landscapes like gardens.  I am inspired by my travels and have used my photographs of exotic gardens and landscapes to create some of my favorite paintings.  My work is representational, and my technique and subject matter are ever-evolving as I try to make up for lost time with my late start in painting.  There is so much to learn!

I have lived in my beloved town of Vienna, Virginia, for over 30 years.  I currently serve as Vice President of the Vienna Arts Society (VAS), and I regularly exhibit and sell my work in many of VAS shows, and find much inspiration from my contact with other artist members.  My work has been accepted into, and sold at, juried shows in Northern Virginia and Clarke County, and I have won several Honorable Mentions.  I have painted several commissions.  Two of my paintings were selected for publication in the 2019 Vienna Town calendar.
