Vienna Arts Society presents Blooming Colors, fine art photography by Julie Cochran at the VAS Gallery from Tuesday, August 7 through Saturday, September 29..

This beautiful show can be viewed at the Vienna Arts Society Gallery at 513 Maple Avenue West, Vienna, Va  22180.

According to the artist:

I put this show together to show how colorful various flowers are in the spring and summer.

In 1993 I took a class at NOVA, “borrowed” my now husband’s Pentax K1000 camera and fell in love with photography.  Since then I’ve taken many photography related classes:  developing and printing as well as digital imaging. I, like most photographers have migrated to digital.

I became a member of the Vienna Photographic Society in September 1998. I have become an award-winning photographer with the club.  I was juried into Nature Visions Photo Expo in 2014 and again in 2016.  I also got into the Town of Vienna Photo Show in 2015, and won second place.

Next Show Change:

The next Gallery Hanging Exchange is Sunday, September 30 at 1:00 pm. Please reply to this email with your painting or photo information (title, medium and price) no later than Wednesday, September 26 so tags and the inventory sheet may be produced before Sunday.

Jan Burns will be the next featured artist.

VAS professional exhibiting standards apply, including well-cut, clean mats and all acid-free materials.  Professional standards also apply to the frames and the back of your art (no cardboard or masking tape). To enter, send your painting or photo information to Loy (lmcgaughy3@gmail.com) by Wednesday, September 26. Do not include jpegs of your paintings or photos.

On Sunday, September 30, deliver your paintings or photos to the Gallery at 1:00 pm. Label the back of each piece so that the wrong tag isn’t attached to your work. Sometimes we don’t know which title goes with which painting. Check that any price on the back matches the price on your tag. Sometimes they don’t match!

To register for the Gallery, you must be a VAS member and agree to sit a 3-hour shift one day per month during the current Gallery show. The dues year is July 1 to June 30, so please make sure you have sent your $50 annual dues to the VAS treasurer. Dues must be current to be an exhibitor.

You may want to consider leaving some business cards at the Gallery. Sometimes viewers ask about an artist’s additional work or may call the artist if no one is at the desk. And don’t forget to bring an updated résumé page for the VAS Artist Book if you haven’t done so.
